About Us
Hi! Josh's Math Blog is a place where the blogger and the worldwide community can discuss math ideas in science, engineering, and education. "Josh" is Josh Myers, a Canadian with an engineering physics bachelor's degree from Queen's University. Since graduating, I have earned a job in the field of thin film photonics, and live happily in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I enjoy doing math problems on my spare time, and wanted a place to share them with the world without need for the academic rigour of publishing in a peer reviewed journal. I intend for this site to be interesting and useful for students, teachers, and those in industry wanting to learn more about mathematical ideas that interest me. Academically, I am enthusiastic about integration problems, random variable problems in physics, and other interesting problems involving special functions and numbers. I am not deeply into conceptual math and proof writing, though I do value the power that working "in the general" provides to contribute to knowledge. Roughly, I would say that I am enthusiastic about applied math, and believe that I am "quite ready" to share my ideas with the world and discuss new ways to think about the mathematical reality. Cheers to you as a viewer, and if you would like to interact, drop me an email at joshua.gregory.myers@gmail.com. I look forward to interacting with you!
